What’s that Sound?

Written by: J. Morson, D. Plumb, P. Laryea, K. McGlade.

CHORUS: It’s a new sound in town/What’s that sound?/Its how we get down/What’s that sound?/Playing on the radio/What’s that sound?/everywhere we go/What’s that sound?

Navig8or: You might just, find yourself asking/What’s that sound, your breath gasping/Spitting over sounds that leave you chest clasping/Too long Godly rappers been watching respect pass them/I’m sick of hearing the same old mess, you are too?/This is something new and fresh for ear drums to pass through/29 will blast you with hits from many angles/Hit you and convict till you can’t walk like bendy ankles/Still I rhyme, full time evangelist/You’re so gripped when we spit yet you can’t handle it/Dismantle it and find truth to change your life/You dis us but hear the Godly sounds and say I’m right.
I’ll guarantee you ain’t heard a sound so blessed before/From us Jesus freak peeps living right next door/Be sure when you hear the freshest sound and ask who is it/God’s people 29 got plenty to do with it.

Dangerous: What’s that sound?/Its something in particular 29 rock the shows stacking up the fixtures/It’s a mixture of rhymes heavy like scriptures/As we flip ya, we’re just coming to assist ya/With the truth breaking up your fall like a parachute/Point my book got your hands up screaming don’t shoot/Ooh I’m coming fresh with the sound/Compound pressure on the crowd as my brow frowns/Heavy sounds abounding, 29 demanding/Much respect for Christ as the verses keep rolling/Grounding feet of peeps with beef as the beat drops/Leaving them shamed like a monk in boxers and socks/True dream team on the scene, my boys gleam/Letting off steam on the mic spitting pristine/Clean explicit content from the first round/We got the crowd knockout singing ‘what’s that sound?’

McGladius: Found in God, a modern day bard/Ambassador for Christ not defined by a chart/Won’t fade into the landscape by wearing camouflage make-up/I don’t spit to fit in; I spit to tell my peers to wake up/So forget the hype, fakes and Jedi mind tricks/Truth so profound it would make medicine sick/Two Nine the quiet storm, a break from the norm/Life changing truths that would make punk rockers conform/And I ain’t no clown so don’t call me Ronald/And cause there’s a ‘Mc’ before ‘Glade’ in my last name don’t mean you can buy me in Mc Donald’s/I’m already bought, through Christ’s suffering and sorrows/Founded on faith, hope and love so I don’t fear tomorrow/And yes were unconventional. Four men in accord/That means we are four-dimensional/Other crews’ sit back fishing for fifties and tens/29 pick up the mic cause we’re fishers of men.

Mr Prince: Yeah it’s us again, back again bring it raw again/Known to set the trend, turn the volume dial back up again/Throwing down rhymes that make your spine tingle/Infiltrate the industry with numerous albums, CD's, and singles/The mix is simple, heavy truths laced over obese beats/Got us in high demand like fat kids with cakes and sweets/Our styles unique on the streets like Chrysler/Paying whack emcees variable rate interest like a Barclays bank ISA/We ignite ya like a matchstick, hold you like Bostic/Sometimes were abrasive guess you could call us caustic/But its all about the lost kids its not about us/Unlike the US were for real when we say in God we trust/And yes you must be crazy thinking you could hold us down/Grip up the industry rocking with the fresh hip-hop sound /So what you saying now, bopping with and upside down frown.

RHYMES

Written by: D. Plumb, K. McGlade, J. Morson.

CHORUS: I take my mic into your club and show the rhymes that I wrote/I take my beats into the streets and show the rhymes that I wrote/ I take my pad into your house and show the rhymes that I wrote/God gave me the skills I’m proud of the rhymes that I wrote.

Dangerous: Mics DJs, b-boys on the floor/I love hip-hop music but I love god more/Cos I would never be ripping it tight if it wasn’t for him/No I’d never be gripping the mic if it wasn’t for him/So always I'm repping for Jesus up in my area/And if you don’t like my rhymes (hee hee) I couldn’t care lesser/Cause I wasn’t named dangerous for nothing
I’m bringing something of substance gangsta emcees getting me all despondent/Cos 29 boys know how to rep with respect/Plus eject lyrical flows that get minds all in check/With much prep, now were full time taking over the set/Jesus said go so we roll and take control like parole/Throw your hands up – up for Christ and up for true life/Cos true life is what I’m given, And in the light is how I’m living/So if you’re sinning stop ha join the club we all fall short/But in Christ were endorsed like trainers and sport.

Navig8or: Ten years of penmanship and still refining my craft/With 29 defining the art letting Jesus shine in my heart/Some rappers are bent on six figures and climbing the charts/Me? I want change while you play my rhymes in your cars/I take time to reflect cos my rhymes reflect me/Plus give God respect and fulfil what I expect to achieve/So enough with that nonsense about guns girls and clothes/I don’t run with no hoes I stun the world with my flows/Roll up to your shows and flip the rhymes that I wrote/Rely upon Holy Ghost so I don’t get dry in my throat/No boasts or champagne toasts just the power of God/And when we start rhyming expect to get showered upon.

McGladius: Is this too dogmatic? Too mellow dramatic? Too charismatic?/Politically incorrect? Or too pragmatic?/Is it too blatant? Jargonistic? Unrealistic?/“Hey guys what about this lyric should I risk it?”/I mean I don’t want to preach or exert upon/But I guess this happens when we read a magazine or turn the TV on/Or walk into a class with a lecturer who says he’s objective/I mean he says he’s liberal, but I still sense the subjective/Then there are these emcees that say they rap conscious, metaphorically thoughtless/Trapping themselves in a mediocre moralistic thought process/Claiming they speak the truth then hide it in metaphor/If they knew the truth then what would they hide it for?/So many voices, some whisper and some shout/See lips moving but nothing coherent comes out/So I just share my heart cause debate breeds’ frustration/Life the question. Faith the journey. God the destination.

Full Time

Written by: D. Plumb, J. Morson, P. Laryea, K. McGlade.

CHORUS: Sit back and listen while we flow -Its full time baby/Sit back and listen while we flow -Its full time baby/Sit back and listen while we flow -Its full time baby/Sit back and listen while we flow -Its 29 baby!

Navig8or: Back in business, who is this? Number one on the hits list/Fully employed to spit with God’s permission to rip this/I’m a witness but don’t expect a front door visit/Just check weather reports for 29 assured blizzards/My wish is that young peeps would seriously get a hold/We lift Jesus high he draws more men than a playboy centrefold/When I flow, you better know it’s for only one reason/To see people changed as quick as the English summer season/The young are bleeding, needing feeding but I’m seeing/Their role models are shoddy obsessed with sex, drugs and thieving/So turn the page, 29 here to curb the rage/Teach young people from an early age, how to earn a wage/It’s our turn to blaze, and best believe we’ve had enough/Stepped out on faith, yeah, you may say we’re mad enough/So what, who said we wouldn’t do it, every dream we pursue it/ Some may say we blew it, but when we’re done they’ll say ‘We knew it’.

Dangerous: The reason I’m spitting is here descriptively written/Its straight pinning the sinning that I'm kicking and hitting/My mission is clear I’m driven there’s no time to be illing/Inspiration from god not smoking or women/Putting my skill in whilst god is transforming my will into/A force of submission that’s enforced by my praising/Constantly killing my flesh to keep in fresh direction / Christ projection keeping it top speed like fuel injection/Foot to the floor, making sure I'm keeping it hardcore keeping it pure / Kicking open doors that’s what I’m here for/I’m the Latin quarter repping in 2004/Cuando vengo crowds get son burned like a gringo/Check my lingo, Peligroso, bringing it bilingual/Plus heavenly language making my spine tingle/We full time you can read it written clear in the vision/Taking the message long distance like a carrier pigeon.

McGladius: My eloquence has no relevance in your presence/Forget elegance, I’m as subtle as elephants/So I forget hesitance, stamp on religious reverence/And disregard loveless experiments into the spiritual/That deny miracle and massage themselves whilst claiming to be transcendently spiritual/You’d find more truth on the vitamin chart of a cereal/Which would nourish and fortify your temple/Or you could spend three hours breaking a sweat on a treadmill/And still, have the abs that could achieve a cheap thrill/And still, write pandering philosophy with an authentic ink quill/And kill, your heart and be led by your mind/Become a slave to the times and live a life that really tried/To explore outside of the box/Hiding behind an academics applause when the supernatural knocks.

Mr Prince: Was working twenty four seven, I’as living life on the grind/Got head hunted, God said “Work for me, full time”/I had to jet from the business that I had previously started ‘bout to start earning six figures, it seemed like I was retarded/When I got showed the game plan that’s when it all made sense/Upon the heavenly scales six figures equalled pence/Had to repent set my sights back on heavenly things/heavenly bling, so now I bop street with a heavenly swing/We got connections, were employed by a heavenly King/I tune my ears so when He speaks I hearing everything/Now rocking shows on the regular, the sound you hearing superb/The beats got you light headed like you was smoking the herb/Like “oh my word” stop 29 “you must be absurd”/Spit so quick on the mic we leave your vision all blurred/And yeah you heard right, were doing this thing full time/Platinum album disc best get yours cos I’m getting mine.

GET YOUR KNEES UP

Written by: D. Plumb, J. Morson, P. Laryea
Featuring: Emma Owen From The Tribe

CHORUS: Oh we’re having a party/Get your knees up/Oh we’re getting it started/Get your knees up/All my boys all my girls/Get your knees up /Step back and do a twirl/ Get your knees up.

Dangerous: You know that’s what we came to do/Ooh hoo some of you thought we came to preach at you/Speak at you, but let me show you how we do/Cos 29 family like to party too/And everywhere we go we take the Holy Ghost/So you know that when we party that we party the most/If you’re a lady come in don’t take off your clothes/We don’t want to see that aaaah exposed/You know that when we bring it then we bringing it hot/Its just the way we roll yo we’re blowing the spot/If you get tired like Q-tip breathe and stop/I’m the lyrical Lancelot commanding you to dance a lot/Move a lot let those knees bend/Non exclusive club so bring a friend/Its hot right here and were setting a trend/Now it’s about time we flipped that chorus again.

Navig8or: You know what the deal is when we’re having a ball /I see you it’s illegal to be grabbing the wall/It’s a real party, and the bar is free/Dance with me, sipping cokes without Bacardi/Ask me? It’s the best atmosphere in town/When I walked/in the room nobody stared me down/I love it, cos it’s clean ain’t no smoke up in the air/It’s all jokes up in here and no one’s choking up beer/Brothers looking fresh, girls are decently dressed/Ain’t no need to impress when I leave I feel blessed/No drunkardness but get those knees up/Ease up, b-boy drop a heavy freeze up/No need for weed and stuff, we’re free from lust/Peeps can come in off the street and just feel the love/So get the chicken wings get on the ding-a-ling/Call the peeps, lift them knees let this thing begin.

Mr Prince: Well known for being the crew that make the crowd stop/Two-nine step on the stage cant be stopped, wont be stopped/Straight to the top with lyrics and beats that make you shake/Ground breaking, upset your balance, just like and earthquake/Leaving you blinking and twitching/while we be flippin and rippin/the beats be tasty like chicken/D cooked them up in the kitchen/All the crowds they be smitten/Cause of the rhymes that we written/Rappers get whacked take a licking/Whenever 29 be spitting/And yo we never be quitting/Won’t find us slacking or sitting/Make moves stay focused got vision/Guess you could say that were driven/Quit all our illin and sinning/Cut off the clubs and fast women/Its just the cross and the blood /Effects the way that we living/Whenever 29 come on the stage you know we preach the one/Christ crucified eternally throned heavenly son/When you hear the good news it make you shake and wanna groove/Cos 29 fam you know we like to party too.

VESSELS

Written by: P. Laryea, D. Plumb, J. Morson, K. McGlade

CHORUS: Vessels, instruments, tools in the hands of the Master/Running this race, no superstars/We’re just vessels, instruments, tools in the hands of the Master/Gotta work harder, run faster.

Dangerous: Hand-crafted, encoded with the Spirit, kinda like hieroglyphics complex like quantum physics/I am human, but my message is simple like the gospel you can read in the bible first four books of new testament/Despite my past being repellent I’m on a journey old things adjourn new things are born/I live and learn/ where things of my King are concerned/like my passion fashioned in my early years tested through my fears pains and tears/Its been years now but I’m still going my faith is still growing through things that God’s showing/To be true so I’m here to bless you the listener/God’s the main feature I’m just a practitioner/Here to show in love the things that I’ve gained from His Word the Bible was written just to give you a lyrical hug/So please understand I don’t mind if I fade to black/I’m just a vessel and I love it what d’you think about that?

McGladius: Bring me into the wide-open space where I’m vulnerable/I’m a man now I got to move off of the soluble/Into daily encounters with Gods living spirit/Take my hands off the wheel, close my eyes and let Him steer it/To experiences and realms that I’ve never known/Finish each day with a true sense that I’ve grown/Faced my fears, know my purpose, prayed through the night/Not to process information but be given true sight/Into the unknown, the untold, the unseen/See the bigger picture that doesn’t revolve around me/Fall to my knees, surrender my abilities, use my availability/Standing on a stage or when I’m in soliloquy.

Mr Prince: The devil tries to frustrate me like he does all God pleasers /Pay him no mind keep my eyes focused on Jesus/Keep my sights set on the prize plus the goal/Sit back let my fear go while the Spirit takes control/Cause I’ve been blessed since the days of my youth/Living proof that God can keep me for being extinct like sabertooth/I spill like juice, settle your hang ups like a noose/I asked God to take control as if my name was Bruce/Almighty, so now me and God are alrighty/Follow the God that able to spit bare bars and excite me/Hold tightly to the truths that I’ve been told/Since five years old, his name is so much more pressures than Gold/Stand before God bold, a soldier, servant, friend and son/I pledged my life to Christ meaning that he is number one
I fade to black; see that Christ remains in centre stage/He to be praised, eternally throned, ancient of days/Amazed that he could use a simple nobody like me
A mended vessel if it weren’t for Christ broken is what I would be.

Navig8or: It’s amazing how God uses the foolish things of this life/Like using me to write, and bring to this mic/Fifteen years old, singing for Christ/With teenage insecurities, but somehow winning the fight/And there was years of preparation to just get here/God making moulding and shaping, hoping my break was next year/But I had to learn patience, learning to obey/Pick the mic up when He says and when He’s done put it down again/What’s my name? Man it doesn’t even matter/Just an instrument being used to see the Farmer’s seed get scattered/Still I’m grateful I’m able to walk this ordered path/No star but if you really want, I’ll sign your autograph/You see this rapper, I see a tool in the hand of the Master/Trying to follow after the heart of the Father/I’d rather you see it truly, without Him I’m nothing/I love Him, Jesus the one who made me something.

Lean it on me

Written by: D. Plumb, P. Laryea, J. Morson, K. McGlade.

CHORUS: If you don’t wanna take it lean it on me/Feel like you can’t carry it lean it on me/Feeling heavy weight then lean it on me/Feel like you can’t navigate lean it on me.

Dangerous: Sometimes my brothers maybe wanna confide/Ten seconds and I’m out hold up by his side/I take pride in my crew so I try to provide/A platform for truth for me and them to reside in/Plain to see its good when brothers dwell in unity/So if in need, sit 'me down and brew 'em up some tea/There’s much love and I’m not afraid to show it either/Give 'em room to breathe try not to be selfish either/We familia, so I keep 'em close, treat em good/As I should doing everything I can for this hood/This crew, this bunch sharing jokes and lunch/I gotta hunch they got my back when it comes to the crunch time/Divine meeting with every single one of them/begin again, I do it all the same again I’d live again / with each one of them holding it down by my side/breaking my pride inside helping me to survive.

Navig8or: Been through a lot together, and still moving still dreaming/Still growing through cold and hot weather and still beaming/Some friends are for a season, you brothers for life/No backstabbers the kind I can trust around my wife/Different family backgrounds, and various colours/It’s the same the bloodline that we share in as brothers/And I will do my best to have your back and not stab it/Mi casa es tu casa, if I’m poor or live lavish/So lean it on me, when it’s getting too much to bear/I love to share, need someone to trust I’m there/Need prayer or direction, Navigator is here/Need brotherly affection, I’m just waiting to care/I know some don’t like you and wanna disrespect/Because of your intellect and that you’re quick to bless/So I’ll hold up your name and cover your corner/Cos under the Son it’s warm and you get more brothers than Warner.

Mr Prince: It feels so good to be sitting here penning these rhymes/Emotions well up when I think of all the lows and the highs/Laughs and the cries that we shared through the months and the years/Sharing all with you, including all my weakness and fear/We shed tears, in times of trouble you’ve been closer than close/That why with every chance I get I raise you up like a toast/And yes I boast, cause a crew like this is real hard to find/That’s why I pray we’ll be together for a very long time/Give you room to shine, seek your best at every turn/Slow to speak, quick to listen try to be quick to learn/My concern is to bring out your very best/And it’s no stress, when times get hard/I got a strong shoulder where you can rest / I invest time and my energy/Giving the best of me/Helping you through so you can be the man your meant to be/You strengthen me, you plus me equals synergy/No matter what the problem you can lean it on me.

McGladius: My mind reflects to times when I couldn’t ride a beat/Yet surrounded myself in brothers who saw talent to be released/Encouraged my style, my accent, rhymes/Nourished my confidence, my integrity, this is family ties/Telling me that I had it in me/To pick up the mic and be a credible emcee/And now see, rapping for God and making ends meet/And I’ll keep coming back like Sound Of Music repeats/Cos my hunger for truth and freedom is unquenchable/And the fact that you hear me rapping is by no means incidental/Pre-destined, pre-meditated and pre-the birth of time/When I rap its got heritage, these are no ordinary rhymes/And so we stand in a line, inextricably intertwined/Four different men stand tall like city skylines/“We all need” somebody to lean on/29 unite, four pillars that stand strong.

A deeper love

Written by: K. McGlade, D. Plumb, J. Morson
Featuring: Hope Plumb and Matt Edwards.

CHORUS: You will find, that love should never be this way/You will find that perfect love will drive away/All fear, so save yourself the hurt and pain/Choose the only way to show someone you love them.

McGladius: Out of the overflow of the mouth the heart speaks/Or maybe it’s our actions? Fear of interaction/Security based on physical attraction, or exaggerated actions/Of a macho man persona, who got the looks and who looks the toner/You cant compete so your roles the loner/So your eyes wander to images that don’t talk back/Spend three minutes with Miss Magazine and leave with your confidence intact/But your self-respect in tatters. Image of love distorted and shattered/A double click and in a flash your whole integrity just got sabotaged/Its sad, woman as a slave, emotionally affirmed man/And of course self-gratification/Then you meet someone you love with porn as your only education/A stumble. A hesitation. Not a computer pop-up but the crowning chapter in creation/Requiring love and conversation. Not manipulating words and sexual persuasion/The double minded man never gave anything but frustration/So lets drop the personal venture/Man and woman together to share in the adventure.

Dangerous: What you looking at?/Drooling over mtv lack of sleep from images making you so horny/You scorn me now but the truth hits as your mind blips/Frequently thinking on girls bits with tips and tricks/From an industry bent on selling sex/All about what you have and how you flex so you/Sign the next cheque take on the next debt/Adding to a picture collection of girls you never met NO/Relationships just quick fixes /Secular transcript reads “Do what your oop says”/Pressurised young minds turn sex into conquests/Notches on bedposts scoring love into recess/Hard to digest how man curses what’s blessed/Lack of control of the mind always strengthens the flesh/But we still battle with lust the ultimate temptress/Devil disguised in a red dress leaving your mind in a mess.

Majesty

Written By: J. Morson, K. McGlade, P. Laryea, D. Plumb.

Navig8or: The king clothed in majesty, glory round about Him/Imperial Lord, with angelic creatures surrounding/Astounding, abiding in a place where time’s non-existent/An everlasting, eternal life that knows no distance/“I will go” as He steps into human weak frame/Where time restrains, and human bodies feel pain/Conceived in a young maid, a young Jewish male/Father’s a carpenter, but this boy’s the King who we hail/No foolish tale but a story of epic proportions/Jesus, conceived out of wedlock but no abortion/Born for a purpose, treated as worthless/A prince born in cow fodder as if born in the circus/Grimy and gritty, it’s nothing pretty/Forget the Christmas cards this is something sickly/Through Nazareth and Galilee, Jesus born and raised/Immanuel, God with us, the path to greatness is paved.

Mr Prince: Can you imagine, He’s the ultimate expression of love/Veiled in flesh the man God, Left his thrown to walk this lowly sod/Externally non extraordinary, yet orderly in speech and thought/Age 12, found teaching teachers in the temple courts/Mid teens now facing the fears and pressures of adolescence/Yet whilst his peers are stressing he looks up to the farther for blessings/And it impressive how he lives a faultless youth/Already showing signs and proof that he is the way, the door, the life, the truth/A little older now a carpenter, well know in his town/Jesus of Galilee, baptised by John in the Red sea/The farther spoke from heaven “this is my son in whom I’m well pleased”/Test passed, onto the next stage of his ministry at 30/Peeps can’t believe what they seeing now/He’s doing healings now, the blind see and the death hear/The lame regain their feeling now/He’s quick to speak against hypocrisy, plus spiritual bureaucracy, Followed by thousands yet earmarked for death by the Pharisees/They can’t stand the light and so they made a plot to take his life/30 silver coins, to crucify the Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

McGladius: Dizzy, dazed, being led to an open grave/Hundreds of scowling faces hatred with venomous hatred pave his way/Spitting, shouting, unrestrained violence/Drenched in blood, stripped, whipped, but dignified in His silence/No objection, no defiance/Carrying the instrument of His execution such was his compliance/Stumbling, tripping, flesh already open continues ripping/As the thorns burrow deeper into His head/The agony grows more intense with every step that He treads/All He sees is red from the blood seeping out of His head/Now it’s dripping from His hair, He’s there, at the foot of His fate/Laid out prostrate he waits. As nails plunge into His flesh and sinews/The horrors only begun, the torture continues/Hoisted high like a bloody flag of obscenity/Muscles spasm, bones disjoint, histories greatest tragedy/Darkness spares human eyes from watching His body contort in agony/As His spirit is tormented with every human nightmare, fear and horrific happening/His breath shortens, the battles fought, He begins to diminish/Looks out at His creation, His last gasp, “It is finished”.

Dangerous: Pull the cross down, body bare, handled without care/Bodies pale bodies cold a sense of guilt lies in the air/Rough wood stained red from the blood that was shed/Limbs strained as they’re wrenched from the nails that held him there/In hell, Jesus tortured but still stands to preach/Comfort between sounds of weeping and gnashing of teeth/Ultimate love displayed through most hellish of doom/Whilst his body lies wrapped up in linen in a tomb/But now he switches, through the darkness his body twitches/Heart begins to pulse as his muscle flinches/The earth quakes and angel takes his place and rolls the stone out/The roman guards start to shake and then they pass out/Just like he already said he had to be killed dead/Now He’s living and breathing instead no more thorns in his head/The crucifixion was nasty scary and bloody/But thanks be to Jesus who rose up and set us free.

Ride or Run

Written by: J. Morson, K. McGlade, P. Laryea, D. Plumb

CHORUS: If you wanna ride, then you best be ready(x3)
If you’re not ready, then you better run.

Navig8or: This is God’s business, no time for games sonny/It’s not funny, go join the circus if you wanna play dummy/This Christian walk is ruddy, it may get bloody/Get ready for sweat buddy, it may get wet and muddy/It’s not a crutch that carries me, it’s a cross I carry / I’ve seen Christians who got shabby, turn back and lost their savvy/To follow Christ you need guts, be prepared to lose friends/I’ve seen Muslims turn to Christ their own families wanted to shoot them/Forget popularity, and sometimes family/Be prepared to stand up and speak against depravity/See this world hates Jesus so they’re gonna hate you too/They’ll be wanting to make you lose every time you make your moves/So if you wanna ride with us if you’re gonna survive be tough/Put down your pride , surrender your life, lay aside your lusts/It’s Christ and us, join the ranks, know your position / Know the vision is snatching others off the road to perdition.

Dangerous: I step to the script and flip to keep the script strong/Keep lyrics straight from scripture like Scripture in Song, I’m Don Peligroso don’t put a foot wrong/I Keep sturdy on my legs and beat my chest like King Kong/You think my tongues twisted but I’m speaking in tongues/I lay hands and you might swing around merrily like ding dong/Probing into things that make you think hard and long/You think my minds twisted but its straight as a prongue/Each day is a battle but hold on stay in the saddle/It’s a white knuckle ride if you cant afford it don’t haggle/The Good Book is my tackle, keeps me on fire so I snap crackle and pop/Equipped with my mic for any beat you wanna drop
The hip-hop don’t stop plus my production smashed off so make a choice crash off or pull the trigger and blast off/I don’t care where you’ve come from, old or young, rich or bum/You’re time is done right now? Its ride or run.

McGladius: I surround myself in eagles and innovating peoples/Manifestations of the heart; not actors, stained glass and steeples/Lethal. Like capital punishment needles/You’re standing by my side or clutching your knees in the foetal/Position. Navy Seal condition, no promise of recognition/Your actions speak louder, your lifestyles your audition/Submission. To the hand that rocks the cradle/Always speak life, so I’m in a constant state of post-natal/Bliss. Represent like a b-boy with a strapped up wrist/Conquering enemy kingdoms like a megalomaniac playing risk/Walking the hard line, not here to undermine/But if you wanna ride then you better have the spine/Be transformed by the renewing of your mind/He said it Himself “The blind can’t lead the blind”/Constantly aware our time here is leased/So I take my eyes off the world and look to the East.

Mr Prince: This life that we’re living for Christ its never easy/Your gonna face some battles to ride man believe me/We’ve been working hard for 10 long years/Industry shown no love, it’s been sweat blood, tears/I face my fears, stand strong Ephesians 4:13/Realise that the battles won by Christ in me
Right, Christ’s the key for riding; if your gonna be down/As for me I ride for the prize, in Christ I be found/I’m pressing in; I’m pressing hard cause I gotta win/No points for doing good/That’s standard when you got Christ as your King/Yo living for him is hard but its gotta be done/No bed of roses in fact you’ll probably be the first to get hung/When this verse is done, you’ll get ten seconds to make up your mind/Pick up your cross, switch

What Would I Be Like?

Written by: J. Morson, K. McGlade, P. Laryea, D. Plumb

Mr Prince: I dread to think what I’d be like if Christ hadn’t bailed me out/Weak and insecure and cursed with a very dirty mouth/No manners, lacking common sense with no social skills/Led astray by fake friends, drinking plus popping pills/I’d be a shallow individual most concerned with myself/Stacking up my wealth, with no regards for anyone else/ Quick to speak, and slow to listen I’d be self-obsessed/A paranoid insomniac, I’d be at best depressed/In actual fact thinking about it, I’d probably be a ladies man/Black book in hand, known for impregnating ladies across the land/Jack the lad, With 7 kids not knowing one of their names/No cards or presents at Christmas or even on their birthdays/I’d bop street stone facing, iced out with bling/Check my swing, you wouldn’t think that I’d be phased by a thing/But really inside I’d be broken, hungry searching for love Like R-Kelly calling heaven cause I need a hug/I’m thanking God that he found me/ And that he set my life straight/If it weren’t for him my life wouldn’t have amounted to nate!

Navigator: What would I be like if I wasn’t here flipping the script?/Probably living shady with a lady or somewhere acting crazy/Maybe pushing a baby trying to make these ends meet/Trying to please fake friends and parents trying to keep them sweet/Friends with police cos they’d probably have me on file/Heart breaking inside but still wearing a big neon smile/Underachiever, no focus, always procrastinating/Young female aggravating, trying to fulfil every fleshly craving/If it wasn’t for parents praying I’d be locked up in the slammer/The sensitive cat, like Gallagher, known for striking back in anger/I’d be weak and insecure but trying to front like all that/Chatting the chat on the street but in my room just fall flat/And that’s real, without Christ I’d be nought and I speak the truth/Trying to be cool but evil inside waiting to strike like Pickachu/Look at me wrong sonny and boy I’d have beef with you/I’d be confused with religion, probably half Sikh, half voodoo/Looking for the answers wanting to seek for truth/But thank God Christ found me and was able to see me through.

Dangerous: Picture me in a pub with multiple dubs and
multiple girls in multiple hugs/ with multiple drugs sold to multiple thugs/ stacking cash from the hash sold in multiple clubs/I would be a self made escapade getting laid/With any girl I could jade into thinking I was worth all the pain/ I would dish,
Leave her standing in the rain feeling dissed/While I was out chasing up on her friend…./Let me embellish the picture, through a portion of scripture/Proverbs 20 verse 1 speaks of a drunken Mr.,/Led astray by all the alcohol that’s he’s consuming/That would be me drinking and brewing turning my life into ruin/Id be slow to think quick to anger, bruised knuckles from fights/A foul mouthed fool spouting lyrics full of shhhhhh……../So I thank the lord that he delivered my life/ Cause if it wasn’t for him then that’s what id be like

McGladius: My bag would be full of Sartre, Plato and Freud/A wealth of knowledge, but internally feeling void/I’d get kicks from debates and flashes of wit/A trophy girlfriend, so friends would say ‘she’s fit’/I’d sit in circles and silence to try and get spiritual/I’d have lots of friends but let no one get near at all/I’d be profound, a one-dimensional clown/A pretentious member of the hip-hop underground/Cause the arts would probably be my God/Happiness found in applause and working hard/And the grass would always seem to be greener/Inability to make a decision would just make me weaker/An identity built on years of passing fades and phases/Put my hope in man, then blame God and become faithless/But the reality is, I had need and Jesus met it/And its only cos of Him that this verse is hypothetic.

Forgive Me

Written by: J. Morson, K. McGlade, D. Plumb

McGladius: Self-promotion, self-preservation and self-glory/It’s the same motives, same human instincts, the same story/A culture that doesn’t want to accept God/Pride, fear and anger that makes man unable to except love/And it’s the same yesterday, today and tomorrow/God is love, offers love. Yet mankind remains in its sorrow/And His model of love has been manipulated, tainted and borrowed/Until mans image of God has become twisted, perverted and sour/We reject His eternal love and become slaves to our weakness/Separating ourselves from God, He sees us but cant be near us/But there is hope. In Jesus Christ the truth was spoken/He didn’t come for the healthy; he came for the sick and broken/He stood in the gap, took our blame and bridged the separation/Call out to Him, he’ll make you clean and transform your situation/So there’s no fear, no shame, no hurt, no blame/He loves you, understands you, He’s calling you by name/

Dangerous: He walked with the same feet as us/Talked with the same lips as us
Felt hurt and pain like the rest of us/But he went through it worse than us/We made him famous claiming he was in ignoramus/With aimless recklessness we killed the stainless/And only blameless man to ever grace these stages/The rock of ages, who turns the pages/And writes the phrases, makes the water flow in the Euphrates/Do you hear me? He’s got the tools to make the changes/So if you’ve felt trapped in a dark place for ages/If you feel claustrophobic like prisoners shut in small cages/If the hurt and the pain inside of you blazes and rages/Its time to break the lock and snap the door from its hinges/Don’t sit on the fringes – the indecision could be endless/We need to let jesus the friend of the friendless come and mend us/Cause everybody knows this rugged life is never painless/But his love is so tremendous that he gave his life to save us/

Navigator: So what do you do from here? Since you’ve heard the truth/If your heart’s zinging like a burst of fruit, let me speak a word to you/You must respond, only a fool would do nothing/Some of you are fronting, its good news yet you refuse to rush in/First of all acknowledge, you’ve done wrong in God’s sight/Move towards the light when you realise you’re not right/Believe in your heart and declare Christ to be your maker/Life changer, acknowledge Him as your Lord and saviour/Receive His forgiveness, life and love into your heart/You’re in relationship now with the God of the second chance and new starts/Come as you are, on your own you can’t make a change/But let God rearrange, trust me you won’t stay the same/Make the decision to leave the old way of doing things/Enter into eternal life and walk with the king of kings/Turn your back on this world of death, sin and strife/But know your future’s bright, eternal life running things with Christ/

Grita Tu Nombre (We Shout Your Name)

Dangerous: !Gloria a dios! Vamonos from first verse to last chorus/Im wanting that name, and like sprite obeying my thirst/Feeling the rush crushing every negative feeling/Shout jesus name out but im never blaspheming/Lord god number one or I could say the primero/Peligroso with integrity trying to keep it sincero/Living under the shade of gods banner like a sombrero/Invest in prasing god like essais stacking dinero/Lift up his name in multiple languages/Take it in vain I might sue you for damages/ Probably not, but when it comes to his name I revere it/….id die for it, just so one more person could hear it/I fear it shudder at the very thought of its glory/So I grab mics and tell its story like jackanory/Try to ignore me, 29 bring it all the same/Grita tu nombre lord im shouting your name/

Navigator: Behind monotonous lyrical bars these emcees trap us/With devilish rhythms and sexual images they attack us/But like Donnie McClurkin we fall down and get back up/Persecuted for shouting Jesus but like Christmas we got this game wrapped up/Regardless, we will shout Your name in the musical market/Sons of the king, lyrics convicting so don’t expect the red carpet/Some artists keep the name of Jesus played down/That’s cool but our calling is to say it loud, like James Brown/In this lyrical playground, I’m not running for prestige/I’m running for one of the best seats in the heavenlies/Preferably, I wanna leave a legacy and leave my generation changed/Create a culture where they shout His name and not take it in vain/It’s simple and plain that name has power to heal the lame/That’s why I’ll speak it on mics without having to feel ashamed/That name is good, I’ll declare it until they can’t ignore us/We got victory cos God is for us so bring the chorus/

McGladius: Through trials and tribulations, hard times and congratulations/Through all the fazes and reservations, ignore the lies and character assassinations/I sing your praises in public places/causes your loves so real that I can almost taste it/So I embrace it, life is a struggle but with you I can face it/Your name I raise it, but the haters try to replace it/Jesus the very definition of love only a foolish man would forsake it/I’m taking small steps slowly stumbling towards my creator/So in the face of this world I will continue to labour/Not be dictated to and always try to love my neighbour/And I will savour every moment in your presence/Trample on my every fear and grip the mic without hesitance/The eternal residence (ah) my minds fixed and firmly focused/Where there’s room for the weak, the lost, the trampled and the hopeless/So in the midst of joy or the dry times when I’m broken/I shout your name Lord with every breath, thought, action and emotion/

Mr Prince: In the midst of many voices that be sounding the same/ I’m here in the game; I’m drowning so i'm shouting your name/While other profane, they laughing cause the think it’s a game/Don’t realise that you got power to raise the dead heal the lame/I sick of hearing you name shouted as a swear or a curse/I’m penning this verse, praying hard to set the trend in reverse/I’m shouting your worth; snatch you up like I was stealing a purse/But every where I turn they cursing at your name and it hurts/Only if they understood about the price you paid/Heavens king slain you took the cross and sealed the game/Only if they understood that heaven worships you/Fairest of ten thou to whom all of the praise is due/Only if the understood your coming back again/Not as a manger babe, you’re coming for your throne to claim/And as hearts melt from fear on that major day/I’ll not be afraid; I’ll just raise my hands and shout your name.
